Timothy Tooth :: 12, January, 2010

So today was my visit to the dentist to have one of my teeth pulled out. I thought I was pretty calm but by the time I got there I was quite freaked out. I know I have had it done before but thats why it was worse. Before, I was blissfully unaware of what it was going to be like but this time I knew so I was a little more reluctant to open my mouth! However, she completely drowned it in anesthetic so I didn’t feel a thing. Its just the whole idea of it that is freaky and I thought I was going to pass out at one point but I survived. So. The tooth is out. She examined it after for cracks because we were hoping that it would be cracked inside which would explain my pain and would mean this should have fixed it. However no cracks were found so its not looking good already. She gave me the tooth as well to take with me to my next appointment at the dental hospital to show them. Its in one of those little blue envelopes with a tooth fairy on that they normally give to kids :)

The anesthetic has worn off and it hurts just as much as normal, if not more. However, its too early to say whether its worked or not as the pain at the moment could just be from where its bruised from having it out. (I’m trying to remain optimistic but really the back tooth hurts the same as before, with the added pain of bruising but we won’t think about that at the moment). Basically, if this works and it stops hurting; excellent. If the back tooth still hurts, not so excellent as it will probably mean that one has to come out too and the gap is already huge so with that gone it will be massive. Will definitely need a denture. If the pain goes from there but jumps to another tooth; not good at all because it could be some sort of facial nerve pain condition which is pretty incurable. Do not want it to be that.

To cheer me up after, my parents took me to the garden centre so I could get some of the rats’ favourite treats so they are going to absolutely love me later when I give them some. I also picked up a few crafty bits but not sure what I’m going to do with them yet; and a dog coat for Dolly but unsurprisingly she hated it like all the others so that will have to go back. I did tell her I would sew a pretty bow onto it for her but she still wasn’t interested. We then went to Asda and look what mummy got me (left):

They are so cool. There were 6 of them but I already ate 3 (or rather, I kind of sucked them to death like a baby with a rusk); and actually, the packet we got was pretty rubbish because 4 of them had Jessie on. Obviously there is nothing wrong with Jessie but it would have been nice to have at least one Buzz in there. Mind you, I wouldn’t have complained if it had been 4 of my darling Woody.

I am about to go and start reading my new autobiography of comedienne Jo Brand because I feel crap and need cheering but first I wanted to show you something I made today. His name is Timothy and he is my adorable (well I think so anyway) new felt tooth pin. He is actually just a prototype. I will be making them properly soon but I hope you will like him just as much as I do all the same. He is made from white felt and has lovely googly eyes and a red pipe cleaner mouth h)
