Timothy Tooth :: 12, January, 2010

So today was my visit to the dentist to have one of my teeth pulled out. I thought I was pretty calm but by the time I got there I was quite freaked out. I know I have had it done before but thats why it was worse. Before, I was blissfully unaware of what it was going to be like but this time I knew so I was a little more reluctant to open my mouth! However, she completely drowned it in anesthetic so I didn’t feel a thing. Its just the whole idea of it that is freaky and I thought I was going to pass out at one point but I survived. So. The tooth is out. She examined it after for cracks because we were hoping that it would be cracked inside which would explain my pain and would mean this should have fixed it. However no cracks were found so its not looking good already. She gave me the tooth as well to take with me to my next appointment at the dental hospital to show them. Its in one of those little blue envelopes with a tooth fairy on that they normally give to kids :)

The anesthetic has worn off and it hurts just as much as normal, if not more. However, its too early to say whether its worked or not as the pain at the moment could just be from where its bruised from having it out. (I’m trying to remain optimistic but really the back tooth hurts the same as before, with the added pain of bruising but we won’t think about that at the moment). Basically, if this works and it stops hurting; excellent. If the back tooth still hurts, not so excellent as it will probably mean that one has to come out too and the gap is already huge so with that gone it will be massive. Will definitely need a denture. If the pain goes from there but jumps to another tooth; not good at all because it could be some sort of facial nerve pain condition which is pretty incurable. Do not want it to be that.

To cheer me up after, my parents took me to the garden centre so I could get some of the rats’ favourite treats so they are going to absolutely love me later when I give them some. I also picked up a few crafty bits but not sure what I’m going to do with them yet; and a dog coat for Dolly but unsurprisingly she hated it like all the others so that will have to go back. I did tell her I would sew a pretty bow onto it for her but she still wasn’t interested. We then went to Asda and look what mummy got me (left):

They are so cool. There were 6 of them but I already ate 3 (or rather, I kind of sucked them to death like a baby with a rusk); and actually, the packet we got was pretty rubbish because 4 of them had Jessie on. Obviously there is nothing wrong with Jessie but it would have been nice to have at least one Buzz in there. Mind you, I wouldn’t have complained if it had been 4 of my darling Woody.

I am about to go and start reading my new autobiography of comedienne Jo Brand because I feel crap and need cheering but first I wanted to show you something I made today. His name is Timothy and he is my adorable (well I think so anyway) new felt tooth pin. He is actually just a prototype. I will be making them properly soon but I hope you will like him just as much as I do all the same. He is made from white felt and has lovely googly eyes and a red pipe cleaner mouth h)

Lovely Shoes :: 11, January, 2010

I was browsing on Etsy today in the Shoes section and found some amazing things that I just had to share with you straight away!

These adorable shoes are by emandsprout. Basically, she takes a pair of ordinary Mary Jane’s and transforms them into the cutest little shoe animals ever seen. You can choose from kitties, Chihuahua’s, bunnies, bears and more; as well as non-animal designs like Little Red Riding Hood, cupcakes, monsters and fruit. My favourite’s are all the animal ones though; in particular the Chihuahua’s and the kitties. In fact; I may just have to order some!! She does also make some clothing and jewellery but the shoes are best.

Snow, Snow, Go Away! :: 10, January, 2010

So it has been snowing a lot in the UK over the past week and we have had it very bad where I live. They don’t grit our road and we live high up on a hill so when it snows we get it particularly bad. Even when its cleared everywhere else, it stays here for an extra few days.

More light snowfall is scheduled for tonight and tomorrow; and heavy snow has been predicted for Tuesday which I am really not happy about because I am supposed to be going to the dentist on Tuesday. If it snows again, I won’t be able to go. Some of you reading this already know me and therefore already know about my teeth problems. Well I am excited to do on Tuesday as they are finally pulling one of them that has been causing the problems so it *might* stop the pain! I am not holding out much hope as when I was at the dental hospital last week they said it might not be tooth related after all. Apparently there is some facial nerve thing you can get which mimics toothache exactly but it is actually a faulty nerve in your face and there isn’t really a good cure for it so I’m hoping it isn’t that. They have to pull the tooth though because its the only way to find if thats what it is. If the pain moves to another tooth, we know thats what it is. If it goes away, everything is wonderful! However, there is still a chance that the pain will remain in the other tooth behind in which case that will probably need to come out too and I will end up with dentures!!! Like a granny!! Ah well. To be honest, I couldn’t care less about that now. Just anything to stop the pain.

Started watching Season 3 of Heroes tonight. I am a bit behind. Loving it though l)  Only watched 2 episodes so far, watching another later.

Ordered some stuff from New Look a moment ago. Nothing too exciting but it does include some heart print tights and some strawberry print socks.
